My dear Tyndall,
Will you favor me by accepting the accompanying pages1 being a sort of Supplement to the Parliamentary Papers2 and which I think you may find interesting—A few copies only were got up for my private friends—I want very much to see you relative to some Scientific Papers I should like to publish in the Phil. Mag. I did not think it worth while to make any observations on Riess’3 last paper.4 I am always ready to make a bridge for a flying enemy. If you will say when you can favor me with 20 minutes I will endeavor to suit your convenience. I will come to the Royal Institution to save you all undue inconvenience.
Most truly yours | W. Snow Harris.
Professor Tyndall, F.R.S.

the accompanying pages being a sort of Supplement: not identified.
Parliamentary Papers: see letter 1342, n. 1.
Riess’: Peter Theophil Riess (1804–83), a German physicist who studied the electricity of friction and magnetism (ADB).
last paper: probably a reference to Riess’ ‘On Electric Pauses’, Phil. Mag., 13 (1857), pp. 261–7. The previous year Harris and Riess were engaged in a dispute in the pages of the magazine.
