My dear Sir
Mr. Gassiots paper1 appears to me to be well worthy of a place in the Philosophical Transactions.2 In it a great number of experiments, which have invoked the application of considerable skill and labour, are described. Their explanation must be included in any complete theory of the electric discharge, and from their number and variety, and the critical circumstances under which some of them have been made, they will probably render efficient help to the founding of a theory. These are the circumstances which induce me to recommend the publication of the paper.
Very sincere[l]y yours | John Tyndall
