My dear Tyndall
Although, having been in the country, I have been long in saying it, you really are a very good Boy, and I am very much in love both with you and your Article.1 But, pray, increase my affection for you, by giving me another very, very soon, and be sure to repeat the operation as often as you can.
Ever most truly yours | John D. Cook. | Tuesday Novr 30/58

your Article: John Cook (1808?–68) started the Saturday Review in 1855, and Tyndall and some of his fellow scientists offered to contribute science articles for it (see letters 1509 and 1528). This particular article mentioned is not identified for certain, but could be ‘The Clouds’, Saturday Review (28 August 1858), p. 207; ‘The English in Switzerland’, Saturday Review (4 September 1858), p. 228, or ‘Colour of Water’, Saturday Review (16 October 1858), p. 374.
