My dear Heinrich,
Your paper2 has reached me & I have sent it to the Royal Society—
It is very nicely prepared and your abstract is quite in order.
Before Easter I do not expect to be able to leave town—but if you could then join Frankland and myself for a week’s trip somewhere we should both be delighted.
I am right glad to hear that your numbers are augmenting.3
Ever yours | John Tyndall | Wednesday
RI MS JT/1/T/339
[16 March 1859]: The letter is dated based on the reference to Debus’s paper, which is assumed to be ‘On the Oxidation of Glycol and on some Salts of Glyoxylic Acid’, Roy. Soc. Proc., 9 (1859), pp. 711–16. This article included a note, ‘Communicated by Dr. Tyndall. Received March 16, 1859’. 16 March 1859 was a Wednesday, which corresponds with the note ‘Wednesday’ in this letter.
Your paper: see n. 1.
I am right glad to hear that your numbers are augmenting: refers to Queenwood; see also letter 1685, n. 5.
