RS MM/769/106
To Unidentified: The recipient was either Walter White or G. G. Stokes, based on the review for Phil. Trans., but has not been further identified.
Mr. Gassiot’s note will form a valuable appendix to his paper, and I have no hesitation in recommending it for publication in the Philosophical Transactions: Gassiot’s article ‘On the stratifications in electrical discharges, as observed in torricellian and other vacua. Second communication’, Phil. Trans., 149 (1859), pp. 136–60, included two additional notes which were added after the communication of the original article. The first note was dated as received on 11 January 1859, and the second note was dated as received on 17 February 1859.
