My Dear Clausius,
I was very much rejoiced to receive the intimation1 of your Verlobung2 and I sincerely trust that it is the commencement of a life of true & solid happiness <on> the part both of yourself and your intended Bride.3
It is now my turn to think of uniting my fate to somebody willing to share it; for if I do not quickly do so I shall be left behind by all my friends.
Will you present my respects & congratulations to Miss Rimpham,4 and I trust at one future day that you will allow me the pleasure of making her personal acquaintance.
In the [hearts greetings] | Believe me dear Clausius | ever truly yours | John Tyndall
