Saturday
My dear Heinrich.
Until now I have not had time to answer your last letter.2 With regard to the Royal Society I should like to have the names of all the considerable Chemists in England attached to your certificate3—
Now to do this you have allowed very little time: but still I am of opinion that if you should wish to become a Fellow your claims are so high that there would be every chance of your election.
With regard to Easter I do not yet know what our plans will be—we must get off somewhere, and I have no objection to the Forest4 if you think Wales too far. But it would never do to leave poor Tom5 at home—he will need a run also and we shall be all three very jolly together—I do not know what his plans are—He has recently been engaged at the University College teaching mathematics,6 and this may keep him in London during the Easter holidays.7 If this be the case you shall have me all to yourself to pet me and fondle and feed me & above all to teach me metaphysics. I want to argue some mechanico–metaphysical points with you—
I am very tired today and long to have a run in the country: but on the whole I have not enjoyed such working power for many years as I have this year.
Goodbye dear Heins | Ever yours | John Tyndall
