To George Gabriel Stokes   24th May 18601

24th May 1860

My dear Sir,

A cursory inspection of Mr. Maxwell’s “postscript” which is all the state of my health permits me to bestow upon it, leaves no doubt upon my mind as to the desirableness of its publication in the Philosophical Transactions. I would strongly recommend its publication.2

Very sincerely yours | John Tyndall

[George Gabriel Stokes]: Stokes is the assumed recipient of this letter, based on the reference to Maxwell’s paper, discussed in letter 1699.

I would strongly recommend its publication: see letter 1699, n. 1.
