William Wright: William Wright (1818/9–92), from Leighlin Bridge, was a close childhood friend of Tyndall, with whom he subsequently maintained a long-term correspondence. He married Sarah Maria Neale on 7 February 1841 at St Nicholas Parish Within, Dublin (Irish Church Records). Possibly due to opposition from her family, the couple rapidly emigrated to America, sailing from Liverpool in early March 1841. They settled in Cincinnati, Ohio, where William worked in the dry goods and grocery trades.

C. A. How Esq.: not identified.
