From Richard Dawes   Sept. 9th1

Deanery, Hereford, | Sept. 9th

My dear Tyndall,

I was glad to find from a note I have just had from Frankland that we may look forward to the pleasure of seeing you here on Friday next, but I am sorry you think of so short a stay. I just write a hasty line to say it will be quite convenient to receive you on Thursday the 12th, by which time the Manchester Meeting2 will have ended, should it be convenient to you to come, and you might like to hear the oratorio of the Messiah3 in the Cathedral on Friday. On whichever day you can come, be in time for dinner,

Believe me, my dear Tyndall, | Always sincerely yours | R. Dawes.

I take the chance of this finding you directed to the meeting of the British Association.
