To Heinrich Debus   Monday1

Monday

My dear Heins

It is not at all necessary for you to come to London on the anniversary2—of course we shd be glad to see you, but it would cost you time and money, so therefore I could not advise you to come.

I feel perfectly satisfied that any mode of experiment which seems satisfactory to you as regards the determination of the loss by scent in the case of the onion3 would appear equally so to me —

Perhaps as I have made the experiment with the potato it would be as well to do it in the way I suggested.4

Yours in great haste | John Tyndall
