Dear Tyndall

I see in my County Newspaper2 received this morning that a magnificent block of “pure white rock salt” has been obtained from the mines of Messrs. Fletcher and Rigby of Marston near Northwich.3 It is stated to be 4½ and is destined for exhibition at the International.4 I advise you to keep your eye upon it, and if it should be pure enough for your purposes I will do what I can to procure you a cut of it.

Believe me | yours very truly | [Philip Grey–]Egerton
