Mein theurer Tyndall
Ihrem
GMagnus.

My dear Tyndall
I hope Dr. Becker1 has told you that I asked him to bring a certificate for you. The Society of Friends of Natural Science2 of this city, a society to which Klaproth,3 A. v. Humboldt, in short the most outstanding natural researchers in Berlin, not only chemists and physicists, but also botanists, zoologists and many more have belonged and still belong, has chosen you and Th. Graham to become honorary members. The certificate has only now been sent to me for dispatch to you. I will look for an opportunity to send it to you, if not earlier, then with Poggendorff.
You may be wondering why I still have not replied to your objections to my research method.4 I have had so little opportunity to work this summer that I was unable to finish several other experiments that I had planned.
I am sorry that even if I am fortunate enough to be able to come to London for the exhibition,5 I will not find you there. It has been a long time since we last spoke and I fear that there is little hope that you will visit us in Berlin, all the more I regret that this occasion will pass as well without any hope for me to see you. Faraday will presumably stay in England. I would look for him wherever he may be just to shake his hand. Please greet him and all who remember me fondly from
Your | G. Magnus.
