From Charles Lyell   Sept. 26th./ 62

Sept. 26th./ 62

My dear Sir

I have never seen Mortillet’s1 paper2—or you sh[ou]ld have had it—He sent me his map alone which is not at hand. I had a small part of it made into a wood cut3 in which operation it seems to have been mislaid but may turn up in a day or two—If the map of the glaciers w[ou]ld be of any use I will try & find it for you if you will write & say so by post.

Ramsay I think told me he had some paper by Mortillet explanatory of the map.
