To Annette Roche   2nd, June, 1864.

Royal Institution | 2nd, June, 1864.

My dear Miss Roche

Thank you a thousand times for your kind note.1 I send you two abominable photographs. Nature did not give me the power of sitting or standing still and when I attempt to do so I am a mere log of wood.

I have written to Dr Phillips2 asking him to have the kindness to push forward the preparation of the room. Miss Wall3 was very good to consent to superintend it—but her absence prevents me from availing myself of her kindness. When I mentioned the room I meant to have it done at once and not by any means to wait.

Yours most truly | John Tyndall
