Liège 28 oct. 1864
Monsieur,
On the Formation of the Alps.

Sir,
I see that you just published the article: On the Formation of the Alps in the Philosophical Magazine.2
I intend to publish, in the Revue des Deux Mondes, in response to another article on Switzerland, an article on the Monte Rosa.3 Your work could be very useful to me. Could I ask you to send it to me? The best way to get it to me is to send it by prepaid post. I would be very grateful to you.
If you have some stories about your interesting excursions in the High Alps, I would be happy to have them also, and to mention them as well.
