Tonning2 11th. Feb. 1842.
My dear Ferdinand ...3
... (Here it seems Ferdinand had asked for old linen for his chilblains which he suffered much from and got very little sympathy.)4
... The money came from Rostock (There has been loss through different values)5 Uncle wants to accept the boats at the valuation that Mother gave for them, but Authorities want them valued again, and if they are valued at less, Uncle will have to pay difference. Uncle sold his large house to Dr Stolborn(?)6 who is marrying this week. I think he got 4,000 (do not know in what money)
The bride bought for her trousseau a tea service @ 200 (Something)!
Now dear Ferdinand hope you will be here. Bertha sends Greetings and many greetings from little Clara.
Your loving Sister
Iwanne Muller.
