Lieber Ferdinand!

Da Fischer u. Kriechauff nun gerade nach der Stadt gehen setze ich mich heute abend gleich bei Dir meinen herzlichsten Dank zu sagen für das Kalb u. Deinen Brief der mich sehr erfreut hat. Das Kalb soll Tali heissen. Ist Dein Geburtstag den 17ten oder den 30ten? einerlei, ich gratuliere Dich im Voraus recht herzlich u. wünsche Dir ein angenehmes Jahr u. völlige Gesundheit. Der liebe Gott erhalte Dich lange. Dir ein Geschenk zu machen wäre mir die grösste Freude, aber ich weiss es nicht möglich zu machen. —

Ich habe das Buch für B. hier aber ich mag es K. u. F. nicht zumuthen es mit zu nehmen. Bitte frage sie recht aus über Sch. jeden Tag haben wir neue Aufzüge mit ihm, es lässt sich nicht so schreiben.

Kumme will unsere Kuh einbrechen, dann will ich sie immer milchen wenn ich Zeit dazu bekomme.

Dear Ferdinand,

As Fischer and Krichauff happen to go into town, I am sitting down straight away tonight to thank you most sincerely for the calf and your letter, which has made me very happy. The calf is to be called Tali. Is your birthday on the 17th or on the 30th?3 — never mind, I congratulate you anyway in advance and wish you a pleasant year and complete good health. May the dear Lord keep you for a very long time. It would be my greatest joy to give you a present, but I do not know how I can make that possible here.

I have the book for B.4 here, but I do not want to impose on K. and F.5 by asking them to take it with them. Please question them thoroughly about Sch.;6 every day we have scenes with him, but I can't very well write it all down

Kumme will break in our cow, and then I will always milk it when I find the time.
