From Thomas Balmain to Ferdinand von Mueller   10 Mar 1857

Sir,

Referring to your letter dated 15th January 1857, addressed to the Honorable the Chief Secretary1 requesting that your leave of absence may be prolonged for a few months, I have the honor to inform you that leave of absence for a further period of four months from the date of your application has been granted which I presume will meet the object you have in view.
