To Julian Tenison Woods   17 December 1857

Melbourne bot. Garden

17. Dec 1857

My dear Mr Woods.

I received your parcel of Banksia ornata (Ferd Mueller in Linnaea XXV. p.)1 — & Thomasia petalocalyx (Ferd. Mueller transact. phil. societ. Vict I. p. 35)2 with the kind lines of yours this evening,3 and hasten to tender for it my thanks being just on the eve of leaving for Cape Otway. The Banksia is not the desired species with brillant red flowers, which I regret because you expended such heavy postage on its transmission

I shall be glad to send you a copy of our transactions at the end of the year when they will be out.

Most obediently

yours

Ferd Mueller
