I have the honor to forward herewith an extract from a letter addressed to me by Mr Under Secretary Moore and to request that you will be good enough to forward without delay such information as will enable me to comply with the instructions contained therein.

Extract

"I am desired by the Chief Secretary to request that a return may be forwarded to this office without delay shewing the names (at full length) of the officers and clerks recommended by the scientific Board for the different situations named in the estimates between votes No 40 and No 50 inclusive, in order that it may be submitted by Mr Haines for the approval of his Excellency the Governor."1
