To Daniel Bunce   30 April 1858

Melbourne Bot Garden

30 Apr 1858.

My dear Mr Bunce.

I received this day a letter from Mr Dallachi, who is procuring for this garden seedlings at the Grampians, which he forwarded by the Royal Mail at Mount Sturgeon.

— The letter bears no date & the Postmark is illegible. But I presume it arrived about the latter part of this week at Geelong.

Not knowing, whether to apply to the postmaster, the postman or the railway agent at Geelong for the plants I hope you will show us the favor of ascertaining where the box went to and send it on with a bill of any expenses incurred for the transit, which I shall pay immediately. The box contains probably valuable things, which unless very carefully packed might [...]1 journey [...]

I beg to [...] a few seeds [...] Feegee2 Island [...] having pods[...] long & furnish[ing]3 an excellent vegeta[ble]

With my best wishes for your welfare I remain,

Dear Sir,

your humble

Ferd. Mueller.

I hope you recovered your health & will early apply for such plants of ours as you may yet require.

[...] [enclo]se the bags [...] soil duely [...] and I should [...] thankful for [...] filling them.4
