To Frederick Powlett   16 July 1858

Melbourne bot. Garden,

16 July 1858.

My dear Mr Powlett.

The bearer of these lines, John Beaby, is warmly recommended to me by Mr O Shanassy and I shall use my influence to see him again employed at the zoological Gardens. But as there the work is at a standing still just now & as I have already taken one of the Beabys on in the bot Gardens, altho' overdrawing my average rate of wages, I should be glad if you could give him for a few weeks temporary employment.

Most truely yours

Ferd. Mueller

Mr Commissioner Powlett1
