In acknowledgment of the receipt of your letter of the 26th Ulto1 making application on behalf of the Zoological Society for the erection of the southern fence of the Gardens devoted to the purposes of the Society, the estimated cost of which is £800 I have the honor to inform you that there are not sufficient funds available for the purpose from the votes under this Department.2
