I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 26 July intimating the desire of the Committee of the Zoological Gardens that you, as Director of the Botanic Gardens should undertake the direction of the works at the first mentioned place also, & your willingness to do so without extra remuneration.1 In reply I am to acquaint you that the proposed arrangement is approved by the Chief Secretary.
