To the Council of the Philosophical Institute of Victoria   November 1858

November 18581

[A letter was read from Dr F. Mueller, who was unavoidably absent, strongly recommending the plan marked 2 deltas in a circle. The note was countersigned by Dr Wilkie in favor of the same plan.]

M's letter was read at a Council meeting on 17 November 1858 which was held to choose between plans for a new building for the Institute. At the next Council meeting, held on 18 November, which M again did not attend, the members selected a design marked 'Appropriate' (MS 11663, vol. 1, Australian Manuscripts Collection, La Trobe Library, Melbourne).
