[He is extremely busy with his garden. Prince Paul Wilhelm was there for a long time and had many conversations with Dr Mueller. The Austrian frigate had arrived in Sidney.3 Dr Mueller was expecting her in Melbourne. A crate with printed matter and plants was about to leave for me. — I am sending you herewith a duplicate of the second part of the Transactions of the Pharmaceutical Society; a Rhus is described in it and it may interest you to read how little the English pharmacies4 are inclined to accept reforms in pharmacy.]5 ...
Dr Mueller writes that the reprints of Reisseck's Rhamneae6 are a long time coming.7]

Sonder then answers questions Schlechtendal had asked about M publications previously received [the German text is not given here]:
The Fragmenta phytographiae Australasiae is a small independent work, I received the conclusion of the first part via London a few days ago. Our copies of it will probably arrive with the next consignment of plants. [B57.07.01: fascicle 3 of Fragmenta was accompanied by a title page indicating that it completed vol. 1, but when issued as a bound volume (B60.02.04), vol. 1 comprised the first 10 fascicles; see Darragh & Lucas (2015), pp. 303-4] — The Introduction of useful Plants into Victoria [B58.05.02], as well as An historical Review of the Explorations of Australia [B58.05.03] are from the Transactions of the Philosophical Institute Victoria Vol. II. Part II. I also received: Papers of the Royal Society of Tasmania 1857 p. 227. On Two alpine Eurybiae of the Australian Continent by Dr Ferd. Mueller. [B60.13.03: the paper is dated 'Botanic Gardens, Melbourne, January 1857' and was probably read at a meeting of the Society in February 1857; M evidently received page proofs before the volume was issued, and Sonder then lists the species described]. p. 231. On Australian & Tasmanian Umbelliferous Plants by Dr F. Mueller. [B60.13.02; Sonder summarizes the content and lists species discussed, and Schlechtendal published a lightly edited version of Sonder's summary in 'Literatur. Papers of the Royal Society of Tasmania. 1857', Botanische Zeitung, 11 February 1859, p. 56, which also mentioned the Eurybia paper and listed the new species 'nach gütiger Mittheilung des Hrn. Dr. Sonder' [according to the friendly notification of Dr Sonder].
