The text given here is from a copy supplied by Henderson & Son to the Colonial Office, on the reverse of their letter of 7 May 1859, reporting that the remittance mentioned in M's letter had not been received. See also E. G. Henderson & Sons to M, 11 May 1859, where M's attention is drawn to the non-receipt of the remittance, and they announce that they have written to Colonial Office. M's request for the payment had been made by 18 November; see M to C, Duffy, November 1858 (in this edition as 58-11-00d).
Letter and list not found.
Folio 482 is a draft of a Colonial Office letter to Henderson & Son dated 18 May 1859, saying that the Colonial Office has not received the draft 'but that as it may probably be made through … the Agent Gen. for Victoria', a copy of their letter had been sent 'to that gentleman with instructions to communicate with you on the subject'.
