Hochverehrter Herr Professor.

Ferd. Mueller

Revered Professor,

Now that the major part of our seeds have been harvested and this year's botanical collections completed, I intend to send an, I hope welcome, consignment to you by a ship that goes directly to Holland. — I already did the same last year but a friend, a passenger on the Minister Thorbecke, to whom I had entrusted my consignments to Holland and Germany, died during the voyage, and I have heard nothing more about the fate of the collections.

Should Blume be inclined to let me have dried Indian plants, I should certainly be happy to make a speedy reciprocal gift of valuable Australian plants.

I received the reprints of the Stirp. Nov. Holl . 3 from Dr Sonder and want to express my sincere gratitude not only for the efforts you expended on my plants, but also for the generosity you displayed in adopting throughout the interim names I had given them.

With my best wishes for you I am respectfully your

Ferd. Mueller,

M.D. & Ph.D.
