Melbourne botanic and zoologic Garden,

I have the honor to enquire, whether you would allow me to close the gates of these gardens on Saturday March 13th, in order to obtain for the Military Band, then intending to play in the gardens, contributions towards the fund to be collected for the sufferers from the late suburban fire.
