Sir,

In reference to yr letter of the 1st instant2 with regard to the purchase of a Boat for the Botanic Gardens, I have the honor to inform you that the better course will be for you to bring the matter under the notice of the Hon. the Chief Secretary who will probably forward the application to this office with a recommendation that the expense be incurred
