I have the honor to solicit, that you will be pleased to authorize the following expenditure in this establishment during the next quarter of the year vize:

 

Salaries to Gov. Botanist, Curator and Assistant

Wages for gardeners, laborers, watchmen &c &c

£1200

Memo: 2 Gardeners of the first class at not exceeding 12/ a day each. 1 Carpenter 12/ a day. 2 Carters including the service of horse & cart not to exceed 18/ a day each. 2 Boatmen including the service of their boat not to exceed 13/ a day each. All other persons at rates not exceeding 11/ a day each. The number of persons employed to be left at the discretion of the Director.
