The Chairman read Letter from Dr Müeller in answer to the Chairmans Letter of the 20th May3 stating he would be most happy to supply plants and seeds for plant[ing] the Botanical Garden.]

Letter not found; item is a summary in the Council minutes. Samuel Merick wrote to the Council on 28 June 1859 advising that he had forwarded three bundles of plants and one bundle of willow cuttings that he had received from M (Minute book 2; Belfast gazette, 8 July 1859, p. 2; Banner of Belfast, 9 July 1859, p. 3).
M's letter was read at a Council meeting, 25 May 1859.
