To John O'Shanassy   25 July 1859

Melbourne bot. & zoolog. Garden,

25 July 1859.

Sir

I have the honor to solicit, that you will be pleased to issue an authority for expending in ordinary wages during the current quarter the sum of £200, set apart as payment for an overseer.

Such arrangement would empower me to carry on the improvements at this season under progress, whilst the above sum will not be required for the purpose specified in the estimates, since one of the gardeners under ordinary wages acts as overseer.

I have the honor to be,

Sir,

your most obedient and humblest servant

Ferd. Mueller

The honorable the Chief Secretary
