Sir,

In reply to your suggestion contained in a letter of the 7 instant1 I have the honor to inform you that the votes you refer to No 86/84, 83/84 for fencing Zoological Gardens and Botanic Gardens being separate divisions of the "Appropriation Act" cannot legally be applied to the same work2 I have therefore to request that you will state what course you consider should under the circumstances be adopted.
