[[Requests permission to cut Tea Tree]2 on Dandenong Road]
Letter not found; it is, however, listed in the inward correspondence register of the Department of Crown Lands and Survey (see no. 4961, roll 4, VPRS 227/P1), where its receipt is registered and date recorded. The text given here is from a separate index.
The entry is the final one in a series of three register entries. The first (see M to C. Hodgkinson, 16 August 1860, n. 1) begins ‘Requests permission’, while the second (M to J. Service, 9 August 1860) uses ‘ditto’ in pace of that; this one also uses 'ditto' but extends its coverage so as also to include 'to cut Tea Tree'.
