From Ferdinand von Mueller to William Nicholson   1 Oct 1860

Melbourne bot. & zool. Garden,

1. Oct. 1860.

Sir

I have the honor to report to you my return from the botanical journey to the south eastern parts of Gipps land, from whence I arrived last night, my return being retarded several days beyond the time anticipated, by the circumstance of no steamer leaving Twofold Bay as usual during the middle of last week.1

I shall have the honor of laying the results of this journey before you embodied in my annual report.2

I have the honor to be,

Sir,

your most obedient and humble servant

Ferd. Mueller.

The honorable the Chief Secretary
