From Octavius Timins1    15 October 1860

15th October 1860.

Sir,

I am instructed by the Governor to send you the enclosed Despatch, which His Excellency has recently received, and to request that, when convenient, you will be good enough to report upon the same.

I have &c

The despatch, dated 3 August 1860, was a request for information on fibrous products that might meet 'the extreme want felt by the manufacturing interest of Great Britain of raw material for the production of textile fabrics'. The despatch is printed in Transactions of the Royal Society of Victoria, vol. 5 (1861), p. xli.
See M to O. Timins, 22 October 1860.
