I have the honor to solicit, that you will be pleased to permit the printing of a short memoir of a few folio-pages at the Gov. Printing Office on the botanical collections formed under auspices of the Government of Queensland during the Burdekin Expedition and recently submitted to my examination.1

I beg further to crave your sanction of fifty (50) copies of the Memoir being supplied for distribution by the Government of Queensland.2

On 13 November 1860 the Under Secretary, J. Moore, asked: 'If the Govt Printer can undertake this work he will be good enough to communicate with Dr Mueller.' The Government Printer, J. Ferres, replied, 15 November: 'The work is now in hand'.

There was a change of government soon afterwards and M renewed his request to the new Chief Secretary; see M to R. Heales, 27 November 1860 (in this edition as 60-11-27a).
