Sir

I have been instructed by the Trustees of the M. P. L.3 to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 9th February 1861,4 and to communicate to you that at a meeting of the Trustees held on the 8th day of March 1861:

It was Resolved

"That the application of Dr. Mueller the Government Botanist &c &c for the return of the Hortus Siccus Australiae presented by Him to this Institution be granted."

Therefore whenever you may think fit to send for the Hortus Siccus, with an acknowledgement of receipt, it will be delivered to your Messenger.5
