I have the honor again to address you with reference to the missing portion of the Burke & Wills Diary which you took away from this office on Novr 6th 1861 as no reply has been vouchsafed to my note of the 28th inst1

You will please to observe that as this is required to be produced for the purpose of being printed by "authority" the production of the original authorised copies is essential both for the integrity of the Committee and the satisfaction of the public.

Your early attention is therefore respectfully requested as the delay has already caused inconvenience.
