Office of Lands & Survey
Melbourne, 15th. Feby. 1862.1
Sir,
I have the honor to inform you that it is proposed to plant a great number of trees in the Parks and Reserves near Melbourne, during the approaching season, and it is desirable that the Board of Land and Works should ascertain the number, description, and age, of the young trees that could be supplied for the above purpose from the Botanical Gardens. I shall be obliged by your furnishing me with the information at your earliest convenience.
I have the honor to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient Servant
C. Hodgkinson
Assist. Commr. of Lands & Survey.
