Durch Herrn Dr Barlow, Schiffsarzt des Clippers "Donald McKay" erlaube ich mir Ihnen eine Kiste unpräparirter Seetange zusenden, unter denen Sie eine reichliche Masse von Ballia Brunonis und Melobesien finden werden. Das Ganze enthält nur zartere Species, keine Fucaceen.
Ich habe Dr Barlow ersucht die Kiste bei Ihrer Gesandschaft oder bei Ihrem General Consul in London abgeben zu wollen.

I take the liberty of sending you a case of unprepared seaweeds through Dr Barlow, ship's doctor of the clipper "Donald McKay". You will find among them a large quantity of Ballia brunonis and Melobesiae. The whole contains only fine species, no Fucaceae.
I have asked Dr Barlow to deliver the case to your Embassy or to your Consul General in London.
