[Dr Mueller read an extract from a letter from Dr George Bennett, of Sydney, stating that two pairs of the Mooruke1 had arrived at Sydney, from the New Hebrides, and enquiring whether the Society would wish to purchase them. Dr Mueller was requested to procure one pair of these birds, which seem to be a connecting link between the ostrich and the emu.]
More usually given as Mooruk or Morrup, the dwarf cassowary, Casuarius bennettii.
