August 14 [186]21

Sir

I have the honor to inform you that Mr Edward B. Masfen of Parliament Houses2 waited on me to day to inform me that for the last 6 month a buck of the fallow deer has been running in Kew paddock and that on Tuesday last the Melbourne hunt after having vainly applied for admission through the gate broke down the fence and hunted the animal which has not since been seen. Are you aware to whom this buck belongs so that if possible some means may be taken to punish these people?

I have the honor to be

Sir

Your most Obedt Servant

Geo Sprigg
