To Adolphe Brongniart   26 August 1862

26/8/62

My dear Professor,

On the 6. of Aug. I forwarded to Mr. W Pamplin of London pr “Moravian” 2 cases for the Museum and in one of these you will find some dry plants from tropical Australia. This collection will be completed hereafter. I was fortunate enough to obtain yet 1 copy of the report on Babbages plants1 &send it today to you.

Since you evince much interest on Rhamneae I enclose fragments of a new genus recently published in the Fragmenta.2

From a remark by M Ramel3 I am informed that you & your excellent colleagues of the Muséum d’histoire naturelle found me worthy of electing me one of the Museum’s correspondent,4 a honour which I the more highly appreciate as it was so little deserved & which places me under so great obligation to you, that I shall doubly exert myself, to show my gratitude for this distinction.

Ever with deep

veneration

your

Ferd Mueller
