[Read letter to Dr F. Mueller dated 24th Jany asking for the use of the Botanical Gardens for the next Exhibition.]2

Letter not found. Toon was honorary Secretary of the Horticultural Society of Victoria. This letter was minuted at a meeting held on 4 February 1863.
This exhibition was held on. 28 February 1863. The press reported: 'But for a large contribution by Dr Mueller of ferns and other plants from the adjoining conservatories, and some novelties of the seedsmen, to be noticed presently, the show would have been but an insignificant affair' (Age, 2 March 1863, p. 7).
