To William Hooker   29 April 1863

29/4/63.

My dear Sir William

I write again by the Great Britain to inform you, that I placed on board of that fine ship Case N 11., containing for your inspection all my normal collections & duplicates (yet available) of Australian ferns, for Dr Bootts examination the Australian Carices & Unciniae of my collection and for Mr Bentham's use 3 fascicles of miscellaneous Leguminosae, supplementing species of genera previously sent, also all Jacksoniae & Gastrolobia.

On the production by any of your emissaries of the byefollowing authority the case will be delivered freightfree, Mr Bright having with his usual kindness allowed it to pass without payment.

In the cases are also a parcel of seed for Mr N B Ward for Chelsea garden & 6 small lots of seeds for Edw. Wilson Esq. Pall[e]mall[e],1 Reform club. These perhaps you would be so kind to cause to be forwarded.

Probably by next mail the remittance of the second £100- - to Mr Bentham will be effected.

Ever in profound regard

yours

Ferd Mueller.

Duplicates may be retained, as you know.

What is the best method for poisoning the herbarium plants? Is Balfours recipe the best?

Carex

Gastrolobium

Jacksonia

Leguminosae

Uncinia

The reform club is in Pall Mall, London.
