From Philip Sclater to Ferdinand von Mueller   [July 1863]

[Dr. Mueller reported that he had received a letter from Dr. Sclater, of London, saying he was sending for the society a pair of Brent geese, a pair of barnacle geese, a pair of Canadian geese, and three hares.]

Letter not found. The text given here is from the report of the meeting of the Council of the Acclimatisation Society of Victoria held on 15 September 1863 (Argus, 17 September 1863, p. 6). Sclater's letter is dated to July 1863 as the latest likely date it could have been sent, to reach M in time for him to report its contents to this meeting.
