At a meeting of the Society on 24 August 1863, it had been decided to hold an exhibition in conjunction with the Horticultural Society of Victoria at the Botanic Garden. The combined show of the two societies was held on 31 October 1863 ('Spring flower show', Argus, 2 November 1863, p. 6).
